DGL season Golfclub Main-Taunus
The men of the Main-Taunus Golf Club have been promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga. The second match day will take place on May 31st on the home green.
Men's team
The Main-Taunus Golf Club team will compete in the 2nd German Golf League (DGL) in 2026 and has been placed in the West Group. Each league group consists of five teams, each of which must play one home match day and four away match days. The league winner will then play in a promotion playoff, while the fourth- and fifth-place teams will be relegated. Each match day consists of eight singles matches in the morning and four foursomes in the afternoon. The roster may include up to eleven players. In plain terms: At least five players must complete 36 holes (i.e., approximately 24 kilometers) per match day.
Team 2026 is strong and received another significant boost from the Play50 event in the fall. In addition, GC Maintaunus welcomes Kenji Nakajima (-2.7) and Max Schad (-1.9), as well as returnee Jan-Niklas Ludwig, to Team 2026. With a successful preseason in Belek, an insightful additional practice round in Essen-Heidhausen (a course with a very unique layout), a friendly match at the Kurpfalz Golf Club, and guidance from Roland Dünow-Ting (physical therapist), nothing stands in the way of the league kickoff. The home club feels well-prepared and is eagerly awaiting the first match day.
League 2 is not new territory for the team. Even though the GC won’t know how the opponents are lined up until the first match day, the team is confident it can hold its own in League 2.
