German Championship U16
Youth sports highlight: The German Championship for female U16 volleyball teams will be held in Wiesbaden from April 24 to 26, 2026.
From April 24 to 26, 2026, Wiesbaden will become the center of German youth volleyball. On behalf of the German Volleyball Association (DVV), VC Wiesbaden will host the German U16 Girls' Championship – an outstanding sporting event that will put the Hessian state capital and the club in the spotlight throughout Germany. True to the motto "At home with VCW," VCW will open its doors to the 16 best U16 girls' teams from all over Germany.
When the best youth teams from the regional associations meet in Wiesbaden, high-class games, strong emotions, and volleyball at the absolute top level are guaranteed. Several hundred spectators will follow the championship live – both on site and via livestream on the DVV's YouTube channel. The event brings the volleyball community together and makes Wiesbaden the heart of German youth sports for a weekend.
Significance for VCW and Wiesbaden
The state capital can showcase its strengths as a sporting city with excellent infrastructure and short distances.
For VCW, hosting the German Championships is also a strategically important event. As one of the leading locations for girls' and women's volleyball in Germany, the club can showcase its outstanding youth development work. For decades, the VCW has been supporting young players with passion, expertise, and a comprehensive development program that combines athletic and personal development. Under the motto "Home for Female Professionals," launched in 2025, the club aims to create a holistic environment in which today's performance-oriented girls become the strong women of tomorrow – on the court and beyond.
Focus on the VCW U16 team
The VCW's own U16 team will also be in the spotlight at the German Championships. As the host team, it represents the strength of the VCW's youth work, which is based on a broad foundation: from early development programs such as "Lucky Volley Kids" and "Vinc lingen" to school cooperation models with the Elly Heuss School. On February 21, 2026, the U16 team was crowned U16 Hesse champion 2026 without losing a single set and in front of a home crowd, and is looking forward to the regional championship at the end of March 2026.
