A medal in a box.
The Carol Nachman Prize for Rheumatology is awarded annually.

Millions of people worldwide suffer from rheumatic complaints, both young and old. The inflammatory and chronic diseases of the joints cause pain, impair freedom of movement and thus reduce quality of life. Scientists from all over the world have been constantly researching improved therapies and treatment options for years - and their achievements are recognized by the "Prize of the State Capital of Wiesbaden for Rheumatology".

The prize, endowed with 37,500 euros, serves to promote clinical, therapeutic and experimental research work in the field of rheumatology. The Carol Nachman Prize and Medal bear the name of their donor, the long-time casino licensee and honorary citizen of Wiesbaden, Carol Nachman. The prize has been awarded to recognized scientists since 1972.

The Hessian state capital of Wiesbaden still has a name as a "rheumatism city": in Wiesbaden's internal rheumatology and orthopaedic clinics, outpatient clinics and specialist rheumatology practices, internationally renowned physicians treat thousands of rheumatism patients every year. In addition, scientific training congresses bring hundreds of rheumatologists to the state capital. Reason enough for Wiesbaden Casino to support the awarding of the "Wiesbaden State Capital Prize for Rheumatology" with great commitment.
