Wiesbaden tree felling register

Trees are characteristic elements of Wiesbaden's cityscape and are valuable in many respects. They provide a habitat for numerous animal species, improve the urban climate, provide shade and beautify the living environment. This is why the state capital of Wiesbaden cares for and protects its trees in order to preserve them for as long as possible.

Nevertheless, urban trees must also be felled if they are no longer stable due to age, disease or storm damage and pose a risk to the immediate surroundings.

With the tree felling register, the state capital of Wiesbaden publishes the felling of such trees and thus takes the public interest into account. With just a few clicks, you can find out whether and where a tree felling is planned or has already taken place - via the district/marking, the search for streets or by zooming into the map. Information on tree species, trunk circumference, reason for felling, felling date and planned replacement planting complete the information provided. This information remains available for two months after felling.

Felling of individual trees is shown as a point. Pruning in groups of trees - which is particularly common in outdoor areas - is shown as an area.

Tree felling statistics show the frequency of felling sorted by district/marking and tree species.

Which tree fellings are published and which are not?

The tree felling register publishes felling in built-up inner areas as well as in outdoor areas, provided they have been commissioned by the city and are subject to approval. The approval requirement is based on the municipal tree protection statutes or other protection regulations, such as the Hessian Landscape Protection Ordinance.

Felling by forestry companies and private tree owners is not published.
