The vehicles and equipment department is all about the vehicle fleet and fire department equipment. All emergency equipment is regularly maintained, repaired and inspected here - from hydraulic rescue kits to pumps and generators to special vehicles. A team of master mechanics, mechatronics technicians, engineers and operational officers with additional qualifications as equipment maintainers ensure that all vehicles and their equipment are ready for use at all times. The workshops at fire stations 1 to 3 form the technical backbone: the vehicle workshop at fire station 1, the equipment testing at fire and rescue station 3.

The Procurement department plans, supports and manages all procurement projects of the Wiesbaden Fire Department - centrally for both professional and volunteer fire departments. New fire department vehicles and equipment are expertly managed here, from the initial specifications to the invitation to tender and awarding of contracts through to technical acceptance by the body manufacturer. The department is also responsible for organizing the warehouses for replacement equipment, resources and daily requirements at the fire stations. In this way, the team ensures that the fire department is always equipped with modern equipment and that everything it needs to operate is available.

No operation can function without reliable communication. The Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Division is responsible for radio technology, alerting and communication systems, mission-critical IT infrastructure, telephone systems, cell phones, and mobile operational IT. Whether in the command vehicle, at the fire station, or at the disaster response headquarters—the IuK ensures a smooth flow of information and is constantly working on modern, future-proof solutions.

Safety is the top priority for the fire department. The Personal Protective Equipment and Measurement Technology Division ensures that every emergency responder is optimally protected and equipped. Here, respiratory protection devices, chemical protection suits, gas and radiation detection equipment, and fall protection gear are inspected, maintained, and kept ready for use. To this end, Fire Station 2 houses a respiratory protection workshop, a measurement technology workshop, and a laundry facility with a uniform pool. Through their work, the staff play a crucial role in ensuring that all firefighters can work safely—day in and day out.
