What parents can expect that’s special at this daycare center:
We are a parent-run initiative with a preschool and daycare center in Wiesbaden-Sonnenberg, founded in 1994. Twenty-eight children aged 6 months to 6 years are lovingly cared for in two groups by five educators. Our educational approach focuses on creativity, physical activity, and immersive experiences in nature. We source our balanced, nutritious meals from Amaranth Kinder Catering, a certified organic kitchen that provides meals for children and teens at daycare centers and schools in the Wiesbaden area. For us, every child—with their whole personality—body, mind, and spirit—is at the center of our care. Appreciation and understanding are our top priorities. Consistent caregivers, a structured daily routine, shared rituals, and clear boundaries provide our nursery children (the “Mäuse”) with emotional security. The children develop their creativity through painting, crafting, building, and designing together. Our “Mäuse” are free to satisfy their urge to move by crawling, romping, running, and jumping. In every season, come rain or shine, we take the children out into nature. In the Bears group, holistic learning and hands-on experiences are our top priority. Music, creativity, movement, and experiencing nature are very important to us. We begin and end each day with a musical morning and closing circle. We enjoy learning new songs and trying our hand at being little artists—both musically and creatively. Learning from and with nature is very important to us. Through nature-based education, we foster our Bears’ intellectual development and promote their health. Once a week, we go to the gym at TSG1861 Sonnenberg e.V. for physical education. But we also go on fun outings to the park and around town—to the Löwe playground, the fire station, or the dentist’s office. Once a month, we also visit our “seniors” at the nearby retirement home to sing and do crafts together. We learn and experience things with all our senses. All of this prepares the children for school and life.
