Our daycare center is centrally located in the Rheingauviertel-Hollerborn neighborhood. The new building was constructed in 2009 right next to the parish hall of the Evangelical St. Matthew’s Church. The church square is a gathering place for families with their children. This close connection to the congregation is reflected in the collaboration between the daycare center and the congregation. We celebrate festivals and church services together, and the pastor regularly visits the daycare center. Appreciation, consideration, and mutual respect shape the community life at the daycare center. Everyone is welcome. The daycare center’s large, bright rooms, hallways, foyer, and natural outdoor area invite girls and boys to explore their needs and desires. They engage in independent play and are thus active participants in their own development. The children are at the center of everything, and they are involved in decisions that affect them. In children’s conferences and the children’s council, children gain their first experiences with democracy. Our daycare center is distinguished by its established program and our commitment to quality improvement. The consistent team benefits from the diverse talents of our various early childhood educators. We are always a step ahead of the times, working with motivation and dedication on current issues. These issues are addressed through a combination of professional knowledge, participatory observation, documentation, and reflection. The educational team views the support provided by mothers and fathers as an asset. We view parents as experts on their own children. During developmental meetings, we discuss together what each child needs for their continued growth. Parents’ requests and concerns are taken seriously, and our educational work is conducted transparently.
