What parents can expect that’s special at this daycare center:

Kita Kastel, better known as Kita Eichelwäldchen, is tucked away between Boelckestraße and Steinernstraße. Even from the outside, the large outdoor area with its many old trees is striking. In addition to the group rooms, there is a large activity room, and the adjacent rooms of the after-school care center are used by children in the elementary program for small-group activities. The wide hallway provides children with additional opportunities for physical activity. Our approach is based on the “Pyramid Method,” a holistic play, learning, and work concept developed in the Netherlands. We specifically promote linguistic and cognitive development, as well as motor and musical skills and personality development. Through exciting games, independent learning, interesting projects, and targeted extracurricular activities, the children explore and discover the world. Particular emphasis is placed on supporting children’s language development. In small groups, they receive a wide range of stimuli and a rich array of activities to consolidate and further develop their language and communication skills. Since 2010, we have been a “Hessian Movement Kindergarten.” The children have a wide range of opportunities for physical activity, both indoors and outdoors. They are guided and supported in their motor development. Comprehensive health promotion based on a three-pronged approach—physical activity, relaxation, and healthy nutrition—is ensured on a long-term basis. Other key areas of focus include: nature and environmental education, computer activities, the transition from daycare to elementary school, and fostering creativity. In addition, we offer special programs for parents. Alongside our daycare programs (parent afternoons, parent-teacher conferences, classroom observations, etc.) we work closely with KiEZ Kastel/Kostheim; together, we develop KiEZ programs in collaboration with all institutions that work with children in the neighborhood, such as daycare centers and elementary schools. Parents are supported and empowered in their parenting roles.
