What parents can expect that’s special at this daycare center:

The Sauerland Daycare Center cares for 132 children aged 6 months to 6 years in mixed-age groups. In each mixed-age group, 16 children—5 of whom are in the nursery and 11 in the preschool—experience, discover, and learn together. We also offer a kindergarten group with 20 children aged 3–6 years. The educational foundation of our work is based on the Montessori method. This provides us with a holistic educational approach centered on the child. Our mission is to create a prepared environment for the children that supports their development. Another key focus of our work is the holistic promotion of physical activity. Since September 2015, we have been a certified Hessian “Movement Kindergarten.” Guided and free-play movement activities support the children’s physical and mental development. Through field trips and forest weeks, physical activity is combined with nature-based learning experiences. Since April 2011, the federal “Schwerpunkt-Kita” initiative for language and integration has provided special support for our children and educators. Our healthy meals are freshly prepared daily and have been awarded the FIT KID certification. In collaboration with the elementary school, we support and guide our children through their transition from daycare to elementary school.
