Social assistance also supports people in need of care by covering all or part of the necessary costs associated with care.
Anyone who is dependent on outside help for the usual and regularly recurring activities of daily living due to illness or disability is entitled to "care assistance". However, this is only provided if the person in need of care is unable to pay for the care services themselves or receives them from others - for example from the care insurance.
The assumption of costs is dependent on income and assets.
Home emergency call
The home emergency call system is a service offered by welfare organizations. It enables disabled and elderly people to call for help in an emergency.
If you have at least care level 1, you can apply to your care insurance fund for a proportion of the costs to be covered. If there is no care level or if income and assets are not sufficient to cover the remaining costs, an application can be made to the social benefits and job center. The need for this is determined by the advice centers for independent living in old age.

The necessary costs of a funeral are covered on application in accordance with § 74 of the Social Security Code Part XII (SGB XII) if the person obliged to do so cannot reasonably be expected to bear the costs.
The funeral costs are covered in the following order
the contractually obligated parties
the heirs (without an allowance with the full estate)
the dependants (in the following order: spouse, first-degree relatives [parents, children], second-degree relatives [siblings, grandchildren, grandparents])
Obliged persons according to § 13 Cemetery and Burial Act
the manager of a facility if the person to be buried died in the facility.
In principle, the equally liable parties are liable with their per capita share. The assumption of costs depends on the estate and the income and assets of the obligated parties. If the funeral costs are to be covered in accordance with Section 74 SGB XII, we recommend informing the funeral home of this when placing the order.

Social difficulties exist if life in the community is significantly restricted by the exclusionary behavior of the person seeking help or a third party.
Help to overcome particular social difficulties can also be applied for if the apartment has to be secured by paying the rent while the person is in prison.
The person seeking help must be willing to cooperate in overcoming the social difficulties as far as possible.
In the course of life, everyone is exposed to a variety of influences and influences that can often lead to a temporary or permanent illness. If a person is no longer able to work due to an illness or a crisis in their life, social welfare can come to their aid. On the one hand, they can receive financial support in the form of assistance with living expenses during their reduction in earning capacity and, on the other hand, they can make use of the support and advice provided by the health and welfare advice service to stabilize their health situation. The prerequisite is the receipt of SGB XII benefits and a temporary reduction in earning capacity, i.e. benefits in accordance with Chapter 3 of SGB XII.
The tasks of health and welfare counseling:
Individual advice on personal life situations, illnesses and crises
Support and assistance with medical and therapeutic connections to GPs, specialists, therapists and clinics
Connection to other social institutions, cooperation partners and self-help groups
Support in applying for assistance, such as rehabilitation measures, applying for a pension, a care degree, assisted living or a degree of disability
Support, advice and awareness-raising for family members
Support in developing new life prospects and career opportunities, taking health restrictions into account
Connection to medical and professional reintegration measures (e.g. work trials)
