Open House Days at the Hessian State Parliament
The Hessian State Parliament will open its doors on September 26 and 27 and invites all citizens to take a look behind the scenes of their parliament.
Hesse is turning 80—the Hessian State Parliament will celebrate this milestone with a large public festival on the last weekend in September.
Take a guided tour through the history of the State Parliament and its buildings, learn firsthand about the work of the parliament, and talk with your state legislators. All five political parties represented in the State Parliament will have their own booths.
Hessischer Rundfunk and HIT RADIO FFH are once again participating as media partners. On both days, hr will open its state parliament studio for tours of the radio and TV studios and will organize the stage program on Saturday. HIT RADIO FFH will host an interactive information booth in the media room on both days and will lead the program in the courtyard on Sunday.
Colorful Family Festival
The Riederwald Adventure Playground is coming from Frankfurt in its playmobile; the Johanniter Youth from Wiesbaden is setting up a bounce house; at the West Hesse Police photo spot, everyone can sit on a real police motorcycle; and the Wiesbaden Museum is hosting a craft station. Children can explore the Parliament on their own as part of a stamp rally.
Politics Up Close
Explore the heart of democracy—the plenary chamber. At the information booths of the five state parliamentary caucuses, state legislators are available to talk with citizens. The data protection officer will be providing information about data security at his booth. How can petitions be submitted? How do stenographers work? How can I take a virtual tour of the state legislature? The staff of the legislative office will answer these questions.
