Webinar: “What Does the New EmpCo Directive Mean for Your Business?”

Sustainability has long been a part of corporate communications. But what statements about the environment and sustainability are still permissible? And what does the EmpCo guideline specifically mean for companies?

Starting September 27, 2026, new requirements for sustainability communication will take effect. These will affect, among other things, general environmental claims, claims regarding climate neutrality, sustainability labels, and certain claims regarding environmental performance and the reparability of products.

Here's what you can expect from the webinar:

  • Legal Classification of the EmpCo Directive
  • What specific changes will this bring for companies?
  • Which statements and advertising claims will be problematic in the future?
  • Case studies and experiences from a large corporation and a medium-sized business

Following a legal analysis by Christian Reuther of the German Confederation of Skilled Crafts (ZDH), two companies will share their practical experiences and provide insights into how they are addressing the new requirements.

The webinar is a joint, free event organized by the Wiesbaden Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK Wiesbaden), the Wiesbaden Chamber of Crafts, the Wiesbaden-Rheingau-Taunus District Craftsmen’s Association, and the Environmental Office of the State Capital of Wiesbaden.
