40 Years of the Environmental Agency – Open House
For 40 years, the Environmental Agency has been working tirelessly to protect nature and the environment—and, in doing so, to improve the quality of life in our city. On Friday, September 18, we will open our doors at Gustav-Stresemann-Ring 15 to anyone interested.
Many people are familiar with the Environmental Agency—but few realize just how diverse our responsibilities are. We are the city’s authority on issues such as biodiversity, clean air, and the protection of soil and water; we develop strategies for climate protection and climate adaptation; and we provide environmental guidance for planning and construction projects.
At our Open House, we’ll show you what goes on behind the scenes: Learn how we’re preparing Wiesbaden for heat waves, droughts, and heavy rainfall; restoring waterways; monitoring air quality and noise levels; and shaping the energy, heating, and climate transitions. Get to know the people and projects that are making Wiesbaden a better and more sustainable place to live—and discover how you can contribute to this effort.

Refreshments

Environmental Forum, discussions with experts, tree tours, a biodiversity tour on the theme “Small Habitats, Big Impact,” noise measurements, cargo bike rides, and an environmental quiz.
