At the RheinMain CongressCenter—which is operated by WICM, a municipal corporation—sustainability and functionality are combined in such a way that environmental goals and user-centric design are considered as a unified whole. During a guided tour with Ulrike Theis, an expert on events and conferences at the Wiesbaden convention center, and WICM Sustainability Manager Robert Frowein, guests will learn many details about sustainability at our convention center in Wiesbaden, which opened in 2018 and has been awarded, among other honors, the Platinum Award from the German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB) (DGNB).

Event date: September 8, 4:00 to 5:00 p.m.
Meeting place: In front of the main entrance

September 23: Wiesbaden Spa Park

What do a staircase, a flower meadow, and a flood control structure have in common? They are new, sustainable features in an old, historic park. Join Stefanie Stüber, Director of Kurpark Management, on a tour of Wiesbaden’s Kurpark and learn why these and other measures are important and how they contribute to greater sustainability.

Event date: September 23, 2026, 2:00–3:00 p.m.
Meeting place: Kurpark entrance in front of the old ticket office (Paulinenstraße/Kurhausplatz 1)

September 23: City Walking Tour "Wiesbaden, with Feeling"

Meeting place: Kurpark entrance in front of the old ticket office (Paulinenstraße/Kurhausplatz 1)

About the Hessian Sustainability Day

Hesse Sustainability Day has been held every two years since 2010 as part of the Hesse Sustainability Strategy. Throughout Hesse, citizens can easily engage with the topic of sustainability at numerous events. The idea behind it is to make sustainability—with all its many facets—visible and something that can be experienced with all the senses.
