Overview map of Wiesbaden with a white background and the populated areas highlighted in light grey. The rivers in the south are shown in light blue. In the foreground there are a total of eight speech bubbles, each outlined in a different color and filled with an aerial photograph. The speech bubbles show where the areas are located, where concept awards are taking place and the names of the projects.
Overview of the areas in which concept methods are used

On December 16, 2021, the City Council decided to launch the first planning competitions for city-owned properties. Between 2022 and 2025, the first planning competition in the state capital of Wiesbaden was successfully held for a community housing project under the motto "Living by the Park / Housing for Many" in the Bierstadt-Nord development area. And here’s what’s in the works:

Bierstadt-North

Three further concept procedures are planned for the Bierstadt-Nord construction area under the following mottos:

  • Neighborhood entrance
Planning objective: Development of a neighborhood center
  • Growing older together
    Planning objective: Integration and community
  • Affordable home ownership
Planning objective: Home ownership for families and cohabiting couples with children

CvO Klarenthal

The site of the former CvO is to be developed in a sustainable and nonprofit manner; the existing building is to be preserved as a “gray energy” structure and repurposed. The project will create apartments, transitional housing facilities, and community spaces for various target groups, supported by a new cooperative. GLS ImmoWert GmbH was selected as an experienced partner for the development of this urban development project, which is groundbreaking in many respects.

  • On October 6, 2026, a joint letter of intent (LOI) was signed to this effect!
  • In the coming months, GLS ImmoWert GmbH will begin the process of establishing the (umbrella) cooperative and will guide this process—join us!
