25.3. - 28.6. 2026: "Day X" by Sibylle Fendt & Paula Winkler

Featuring selected works from the Artothek, "Kuckuck Kunstguck" offers insights into the city’s art collection in the Kunsthaus foyer, complementing the exhibitions. From Wednesday, March 25, 2026, to Sunday, June 28, 2026, the Artothek will present three works from the five-part series “Tag X” by Sibylle Fendt & Paula Winkler to accompany the exhibition “Memory in Action: Marcelo Brodsky.”

Following the student movements of the 1960s, protests led by teenagers and young adults have been growing worldwide again for about five years. The methods of climate activists—ranging from demonstrations and symbolic performances to civil disobedience—have changed significantly in recent years and are often accompanied by emotional debates.

The two photographers, Sibylle Fendt and Paula Winkler, have spent months documenting actions and capturing participants and tools from various climate movements through their lenses. With a mix of documentary photographs, staged portraits, and still lifes, they portray a generation that feels compelled to take action.

Sibylle Fendt and Paula Winkler both live and work in Berlin and are represented by the Ostkreuz agency.

A total of five photographs from the “Tag X” series are held in the Municipal Art Collection of the State Capital of Wiesbaden and can be borrowed from the Art Library.
