Press release of the state capital Wiesbaden

Full closure of Höchster Straße in Biebrich

To upgrade the existing water network structure and meet the increasing demand for drinking water in the greater Biebrich area, further civil engineering work is required in Höchster Strasse.

Höchster Straße will remain completely closed to vehicular traffic between house numbers 2 and 6 until Wednesday, April 29 (tentatively). The closure also affects cyclists.

On Kasteler Straße, just before the intersection with Biebricher Allee in the westbound direction, the right turn onto Biebricher Allee is closed.

The sidewalk is also closed in this area. Pedestrians must cross to the other side of the street; this closure also affects cyclists.

Pedestrians can use their usual routes. The city asks for your understanding regarding the traffic disruptions associated with the work.

The city regularly renovates roads, utility lines, and sewers. That is why there are approximately 5,000 construction sites in Wiesbaden every year. A map showing selected projects is available at wiesbaden.de/baustellen (opens in a new tab). If buses are affected, ESWE Verkehr will provide information on detours at eswe-verkehr.de (opens in a new tab). All of this work is an investment in the future. Without these projects, major damage would occur sooner or later, leading to more severe traffic disruptions.
