Biodiversity exhibition at the Umweltladen
Visit beavers, partridges and wild bees: The new exhibition "City full of life - Biological diversity between forest, meadow and balcony", which can be seen from Wednesday, April 15, to Saturday, July 25, at the Umweltladen Wiesbaden, shows how diverse and lively Wiesbaden's nature is.
The focus is on a tiny explorer: the pipistrelle bat. On her journey through Wiesbaden, she guides visitors through a variety of habitats—from forests to meadows and bodies of water, all the way to gardens and balconies. This highlights just how important species and habitat diversity is for animals, plants, and for us humans as well. The exhibition explains in an accessible way what biodiversity means and why protecting it is so important. At the same time, the banners and exhibits show in concrete terms how everyone can contribute in their daily lives to strengthening nature right on their own doorstep—whether in the garden, on the balcony, or through mindful behavior in everyday life. The exhibition is complemented by a digital offering featuring an interactive tour, exciting additional information, animal sounds, and short quizzes.
The exhibition is part of Wiesbaden’s Biodiversity Weeks, which will take place from Monday, May 18, through Sunday, June 14. The Environmental Office, together with various environmental associations, clubs, farmers, and organizations, is inviting the public to a series of events.
