Press release of the state capital Wiesbaden

Inauguration of the information boards in Kastel

The Leinpfad regional park route on the banks of the Rhine in Wiesbaden has new information facilities.

The banks of the Rhine in Wiesbaden are rich in diversity—scenic, historical, and cultural. To make these unique features more visible and accessible to residents and visitors alike, new information panels were installed along the banks of the Rhine and Main rivers in Wiesbaden at the beginning of the year.

The unveiling of the information boards will take place on Wednesday, April 22, at 2 p.m. on the banks of the Rhine in Kastel in front of the Reduit. “We would like to invite everyone interested to the unveiling. Above all, we are of course delighted if many residents will be there,” says Mayor Gert-Uwe Mende.

As part of the inauguration, a small exhibition will also be on display, featuring miniature versions of the other information panels.

The new panels are part of the Leinpfad Regional Park Route and provide interesting facts about nature, history, and special places along the riverbank. They are deliberately designed to appeal to children and offer supplementary digital information via QR codes. In this way, they invite visitors to consciously engage with the surroundings and learn more about the development and significance of this landscape.

The RheinMain Regional Park was established over 30 years ago to preserve the remaining open spaces between settlements in the densely populated Rhein-Main region and to develop and enhance them for those seeking recreation. The state capital of Wiesbaden has been part of the RheinMain Regional Park since 2007.
