"Charity Working Test" for assistance dogs at the Platte hunting lodge
On the weekend of April 25 and 26, the "Charity Working Test" of Vita e.V. Assistenzhunde will take place at Jagdschloss Platte.
Visitors will have the opportunity to watch the participating teams and their dogs work together live around the castle. On both days, dog handlers will demonstrate various tasks with their dogs in different categories. The teams from Vita e.V. will also showcase the vital support that assistance dogs provide to children and adults with disabilities in their daily lives.
“Following 2019 and 2025, we are once again pleased to welcome the assistance dogs and their trainers to the Platte Hunting Lodge this year. The nonprofit association trains dogs that support people with physical or mental disabilities in their daily lives and enable them to lead more independent lives. This commitment makes our society more inclusive and deserves the highest recognition,” explains Mayor and Head of Economic Affairs Christiane Hinninger.
On Sunday, April 26, the event will be complemented by an open house at the Platte Hunting Lodge. The building will be open to guests from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. Additionally, free guided tours will be offered at 1 p.m., 2 p.m., and 3 p.m. No prior registration is required.
The hunting horn players will also be there again. This time, the hunting horn players of the Groß-Gerau District Hunting Association, led by Chairwoman Heddy Eisele-Habich, will provide musical accompaniment to kick off the second day of the event on Sunday, April 26, at 9 a.m.
