Tree planting in Dotzheim daycare center on Arbor Day

On the occasion of Arbor Day, a copper rock pear (Amelanchier lamarckii) was planted on Monday, April 27, in the outdoor area of the Friedrich-Engels-Weg municipal daycare center in Dotzheim in Schelmengraben.

The planting project was carried out in collaboration with Alexander Held Garten- und Landschaftsbau GmbH and the Professional Association for Garden, Landscape, and Sports Field Construction in Hesse-Thuringia (Fachverband Garten-, Landschafts- und Sportplatzbau Hessen-Thüringen e.V.). The collaboration was initiated by Ulrich Schwalbach, the mayor of Dotzheim. Trainees from Alexander Held Garten- und Landschaftsbau GmbH also participated in the project and carried out the planting. The company is a regionally active specialist firm for the design and maintenance of outdoor facilities and is committed to training skilled workers. The planting complements the facility’s outdoor grounds. In the future, the copper serviceberry will serve, among other things, as a shade tree and provide habitat for insects. Arbor Day draws attention nationwide to the importance of trees for the environment and quality of life.
