Award of the Christa Moering Scholarship
In 2026, the state capital of Wiesbaden will award the "Christa Moering Scholarship" for the tenth time in memory of Wiesbaden painter and honorary citizen Christa Moering (1916-2013).
The fellowship is awarded every two years and comes with a prize of 10,000 euros. It is open to visual artists of all ages who live, work, or were born in Wiesbaden.
Works from all fields of the visual arts that engage with the theme “Metropolis: Dystopia and Utopia” may be submitted. The scholarship is linked to the realization of a project at the Kunsthaus Wiesbaden in the following year. This exhibition will be presented in connection with the 100th anniversary of Fritz Lang’s silent film “Metropolis,” the rights to which are held by the F.W. Murnau Foundation in Wiesbaden.
The application in paper form should include a current CV detailing the applicant’s artistic career, up to two catalogs, and five to ten photos. A digital-only application is also possible. The scholarship will be awarded by an expert jury.
Applications must be submitted by Saturday, June 6 (postmark date) to: Kulturamt Wiesbaden, Referat Bildende Kunst, Schulberg 10/Kunsthaus, 65183 Wiesbaden.
