Press release of the state capital Wiesbaden

Wiesbaden continues participation in the E-Lotsen program in 2026

This year, the state capital of Wiesbaden is once again participating in the Hessian state program "Engagement-Lotsen" with its own project. This means that Wiesbaden is once again one of the municipalities that will be actively involved in strengthening civic engagement from May onwards.

The Engagement Guides Program is an annual training initiative offered by the State of Hesse to promote volunteerism. Since 2004, Engagement Guides have been trained in numerous cities and municipalities across Hesse to strengthen local engagement, launch projects, and support initiatives.

The work of the new engagement guides focuses on providing concrete guidance, advice, and support to volunteers in Wiesbaden. They help develop ideas, implement measures, and connect people with one another. To this end, an informational event was held at City Hall on Tuesday, March 10.

“Our continued participation in the E-Lotsen program underscores the importance of volunteer engagement for social cohesion in our city,” emphasizes Ashkan Nekoueian, Commissioner for Engagement. Many projects initiated by engagement guides have become firmly established and now shape the landscape of civic engagement in Wiesbaden.

For questions, the Commissioner for Civic Engagement in the Mayor’s Office, mitWIrken Unit, is available at mitwirkenwiesbadende.
