The meeting of the Committee on Economy, Labor, and Digitalization will take place on Tuesday, August 25, starting at 5:15 p.m. at Gustav-Stresemann-Ring 15 in the Montreux-San Sebastian room. Items on the agenda include “Zukunftswerk Wiesbaden—Presenting Evidence-Based Data on Usage, Costs, and Impact,” “Report of the Information Security Officer,” “Raising Awareness of Phishing Attacks,” “Blocking phone numbers with the 0163 area code for calls to the municipal network,” “Nextcloud deployment and handling of IT security incidents,” “Protection against discrimination through the use of AI in public administration,” “Whistleblower protection,” “Further strengthening Wiesbaden as a health and convention destination,” and “Economic consequences of a possible increase in the sparkling wine tax.” In addition, there will be an update from the Economic Development Department. 

The Committee on Urban Development, Planning, and Safety will meet on Tuesday, August 25, starting at 5:00 p.m. at City Hall, Schlossplatz 6, in Room 318. Topics to be discussed at the meeting include “2024 and 2025 Annual Reports of the City Police of Wiesbaden,” “Regular Participation of the Fire Department in the Committee on Urban Development, Planning, and Safety,” “Procurement of a Mobile Video Surveillance System,” “Series of acts of vandalism in Wiesbaden this year,” “Modular construction for public buildings as a flexible and sustainable infrastructure strategy,” “Connection of the Ostfeld,” “Increase in social housing construction in the ‘Quartier am Bürgerhaus,’” “Enhancement of youth gathering places and public spaces through the creation of covered seating areas,” as well as several zoning plans. 

The meeting of the Committee on Finance and Public Holdings will begin on Wednesday, August 26, at 5:00 p.m. at City Hall, Schlossplatz 6, in Room 22. Topics to be discussed include “Budget, Lack of Synergies, and Employee Complaints: Current status of the merger of the Parks and Recreation Department and ELW into ‘Stadtservice Wiesbaden’,” “Increasing efficiency in administration and municipal holdings,” “Anonymous applications for positions with the city and its municipal enterprises,” “The Fasanerie, city forest, and playgrounds must not be managed based on economic considerations,” and “Costs of local administrations and potential savings.” In addition, the city treasurer will present a report on the current budget situation.
