Press release of the state capital Wiesbaden

Construction work on Platter Street

Platter Straße (B 417) will be narrowed from Wednesday, August 19, until approximately Wednesday, August 26, at the section just past the entrance to the New Jewish Cemetery. One side of the road will be closed. Traffic will be controlled by a mobile traffic light system. During the work, Platter Street will remain open to traffic in both directions, but delays are expected. The work is being carried out due to a water main break.

The restrictions also affect bicycle traffic. Pedestrians can use their usual routes. The city asks for your understanding regarding the traffic disruptions caused by the construction work.

The city regularly renovates roads, utility lines, and sewers. As a result, there are approximately 5,000 construction sites in Wiesbaden every year. A map showing selected projects is available at www.wiesbaden.de/baustellen. If buses are affected, ESWE Verkehr provides information on detours at www.eswe-verkehr.de (opens in a new tab). All of this work is an investment in the future. Without these projects, major damage would occur sooner or later, leading to even more severe traffic disruptions.
