Press release of the state capital Wiesbaden

Information Day for Women – Start Your Career Well Prepared

The state capital of Wiesbaden is sending a strong message in support of equal professional opportunities with its Information Day for Women. With the goal of opening up career opportunities, providing guidance, and supporting women on their individual paths, the annual Information Day for Women will take place on Wednesday, September 2, from 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in Room 22 at City Hall, Schlossplatz 6.

The focus is on information, personalized counseling, and direct interaction. Following the official opening by Mayor Christiane Hinninger and another welcome address, several women will share their personal journeys into the workforce and their successful (new) starts. Their stories demonstrate that change is possible and encourage other women to seize their own opportunities.

Afterward, visitors can explore a “Market of Opportunities,” where employees of the City of Wiesbaden and representatives from numerous organizations will present their offerings and be available for one-on-one conversations.

The event will be complemented by a varied supporting program featuring free lectures and workshops at educational institutions located in the immediate vicinity of City Hall. Topics will include, among others:

  • Job Applications 4.0—How to Succeed with a Job Application in the Digital Workplace?
  • Steps toward becoming a family manager: Balancing family and career.
  • Resume review with personalized tips.
Guidance on returning to the workforce.
  • Building on Your Strengths: Recognizing Your Own Strengths and Applying Them Strategically in Your Career and Daily Life.
  • A Future in Social Professions – Career Opportunities in the Fields of Nursing and Education.

The event is organized by the Municipal Women’s Office and the Equal Opportunity Officer for the Labor Market at the Wiesbaden Social Services and Job Center, in cooperation with the Equal Opportunity Officer for the Labor Market at the Employment Agency, with the participation of numerous organizations from the Family and Career Working Group.

The information day for women is designed to help women—regardless of their individual life situations—develop new perspectives and find the career path that is right for them.
