From three locations—Rheinstraße, Luisenforum, and in front of the former Kaufhof—those interested can view a 360° panorama of how Schwalbacher Straße will change. The focus is on the future sidewalk, which will be about three times as wide as it is today and will be enhanced with additional trees, seating, and play areas. A new, spacious, and accessible bus stop will also be built under the Luisenforum overpass. The views of the shops and restaurants are intended as examples. 

“Construction on the redesign of Schwalbacher Straße is about to begin, and we’re already seeing a great deal of interest from residents and business owners. Standard plan drawings tend to be quite technical and aren’t easily understood by everyone. To provide a realistic and vivid glimpse into the future, we have therefore developed these 360-degree views,” said Andreas Kowol, Director of Transportation. 

The 360° visualizations can be found in the city’s digital twin at https://wiesbaden.virtualcitymap.de/ (opens in a new tab) under the “Planning” section, “Vision Schwalbacher Straße.” The access points are located on the city map on Schwalbacher Straße. The views were created as a joint project between the Department of Transportation, the Smart City Department led by Maral Koohestanian, and the City Planning Office.
