Mayor Mende Welcomes New Department Heads
On Tuesday, September 1, Mayor Gert-Uwe Mende welcomed the new department heads to City Hall.
“On behalf of the state capital of Wiesbaden, and also on a personal note, I warmly welcome you to your first City Council meeting. I look forward to a fruitful and constructive collaboration for the good of our city. My approach has always been—and continues to be—that the City Council is a collegial body. For me, treating one another with respect and decency remains the standard,” said Mayor Mende.
Mayor Mende thanked the outgoing department heads Milena Löbcke and Dr. Hendrik Schmehl for their work over the past years.
The new City Council consists of: Mayor Gert-Uwe Mende, Mayor Christiane Hinninger (Department of Environment and Urban Development), Daniela Georgi (Department of Economy, Sports, and Public Order), Marc Dahlen (Department of Legal Affairs and Mobility), Andreas Kowol (Department of Health, Social Affairs, Consumer Protection, and Housing), Christian Diers (Department of Finance), Maral Koohestanian (Department of Digital Transformation), and Dr. Patricia Becher (Department of Schools and Culture).
The City Executive Board is the head of the administration. It makes decisions on ongoing administrative matters, prepares resolutions for the City Council, and implements them. The board typically meets every Tuesday at City Hall.
