Mayor Christiane Hinninger emphasized the importance of the soccer field: “Sports fields like this one serve important functions as spaces for physical activity and places where people of different ages, backgrounds, and interests can come together. Freely accessible sports and recreational areas improve quality of life and contribute to social cohesion in the neighborhoods.” 

Now that construction is complete, the soccer field is once again available to people of all ages for play, sports, and physical activity. 

Hinninger thanked the staff of the Parks and Recreation Department as well as the landscaping contractor for their dedicated and successful implementation of the project. The cost of the project amounts to 96,000 euros. Looking ahead to the coming weeks, she also announced the opening of the neighborhood square in the Komponistenviertel as well as the new water playground in the Reisinger-Anlagen. Both projects underscore the city’s ongoing commitment to further developing public open spaces for all generations.
