"Auf die Plätze" Neighborhood Festival in Westend
“Auf die Plätze” is an annual festival for children, teens, and families that takes place at various locations in the Westend neighborhood and the surrounding area.
This year, it will take place on Tuesday, September 15, at Blücherplatz from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and on Friday, September 18, on Wellritzstraße, also from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., as part of the Play Street Festival.
The event features a program of sports, games, art, and hands-on activities. From games and tournaments to art workshops and a stage program with music, there are plenty of exciting activities for every child and every age group. The event is planned and organized by the Mobile Youth Work program at the Westend Community Center and is supported by various external partners, clubs, and organizations.
A special highlight this year is that the Mobile Youth Work program in Westend is celebrating its 30th anniversary. For three decades now, the social workers have been active in the neighborhood even outside the facilities, serving as reliable confidants and advocates for the issues and concerns of children and youth in the neighborhood.
