The event is aimed at people with mental illnesses as well as their family members, friends, professionals, employers, institutions, and anyone else interested. In addition to presentations, there will be panel discussions. In the town hall foyer, a “Market of Opportunities” with numerous information booths invites visitors to learn, ask questions, and exchange ideas. 

A key focus of Mental Health Day is the question of how participation in the workforce can be made possible on an individual basis. The event deliberately brings together different perspectives. “For many people, work is an important part of life. It provides stability, fosters social connections, and can give people a sense of being needed. A mental illness must therefore not automatically lead to exclusion from the workforce,” says Milena Löbcke, Head of the Health Department, who is serving as the event’s patron. The focus is therefore on mutual exchange. 

Accompanying the 7th Wiesbaden Psychiatry Day, an exhibition of artwork by people with mental illness will take place in the City Hall foyer from Friday, September 4, through Saturday, September 5. 

As part of Psychiatry Day, the Caligari FilmBühne will screen the film “Henriette and Guido—An Unusual Love Story” on Wednesday, September 2, at 5:30 p.m.
