Press release of the state capital Wiesbaden

New Supply Line for Möwenstraße

Starting Monday, July 27, ESWE Versorgung will be replacing the gas line at Möwenstraße 2–12, which is in need of repair. The work will take about twelve weeks in total. Traffic routing will be adjusted as construction progresses.

The preparatory work at the intersection will take about six weeks; the replacement of the gas supply line will then take another six weeks.

The section of pipeline in question dates back to 1972, is made of steel, and is in need of repair. The existing pipeline will be replaced with polyethylene (PE) pipes. These are extremely durable—lasting up to 100 years—corrosion-resistant, and flexible. The replacement will be carried out using the relining method, in which the new pipes are inserted into the existing pipeline.

The work being carried out by ESWE Versorgung is coordinated with other construction projects on Möwenstraße. It is taking place in advance of the sewer rehabilitation scheduled for October by the Waste Management Services of the State Capital of Wiesbaden (ELW). Afterward, the Civil Engineering and Surveying Office will restore the roadway.

ESWE Versorgung thanks you for your understanding and apologizes for any inconvenience caused.
