Opening of the Main Bridge near Hochheim: Thanks to the affected neighborhoods of Kastel and Kostheim
The state capital of Wiesbaden and the federal government’s Autobahn GmbH would like to thank the residents of Kastel and Kostheim for their patience and constructive cooperation during the closure of the Hochheim Main Bridge on the A671.
Due to the repair work, the important connection between the Hochheim-Süd and Gustavsburg interchanges was temporarily closed to all traffic; work is now gradually resuming, in some cases with modified traffic routing.
The detour traffic had a particularly significant impact on the narrow town center of Kostheim, which residents and drivers felt quite acutely. This made the local commitment to working together to find solutions all the more important, so that the additional traffic could flow as smoothly as possible despite the restrictions.
“Together with Autobahn GmbH, I would like to express my sincere thanks to the people of Kastel and Kostheim—especially the Kostheim Local Advisory Board—for their patience, their cooperation, and their many constructive suggestions. The strain was considerable, but this situation in particular demonstrated how important open communication is so that we can work together to find practical solutions for local traffic,” said Andreas Kowol, Head of the Transportation Department.
