Press release of the state capital Wiesbaden

Closure of Möwenstraße, Anglergasse, and Flößergasse in Schierstein

ESWE-Versorgungs-AG will be replacing the gas line at Möwenstraße 2–10, Flößergasse 2, and Anglergasse 15 from Monday, July 27, through Monday, August 31 (tentatively).

The lanes of Anglergasse and Flößergasse will be completely closed here, one after the other. Möwenstraße will be narrowed, and one-way traffic will be redirected to the westbound direction.

Residents of Möwenstraße will only be able to access their properties via Schiffergasse and Flößergasse while Anglergasse is closed.

Traffic restrictions and no-stopping zones on Schiffergasse, Wasserrolle, and Möwenstraße will be adjusted as construction progresses.

The closure will also largely affect bicycle traffic; pedestrians can use their usual routes. The entrance to Möwenstraße from Wasserrolle will remain open to bicycle traffic. The city asks for your understanding regarding the traffic disruptions associated with the work.

The city regularly renovates roads, utility lines, and sewers. As a result, there are approximately 5,000 construction sites in Wiesbaden every year. A map showing selected projects is available at wiesbaden.de/baustellen (opens in a new tab). If buses are affected, ESWE Verkehr will provide information on detours at eswe-verkehr.de (opens in a new tab). All of this work is an investment in the future. Without these projects, major damage would occur sooner or later, leading to more severe traffic disruptions.
