To this day, the State Bauhaus is regarded as one of the most innovative institutions of the modern era. As the workshop master of the metalworking class in Weimar, Christian Dell was a major source of inspiration for his students, including Marianne Brandt, Wilhelm Wagenfeld, and Wolfgang Tümpel. On Thursday, August 6, at 6 p.m., the Stadtmuseum am Markt invites you to a themed tour titled “Sphere, Circle, Square—Christian Dell at the Bauhaus” through the special exhibition “Christian Dell—From the Silver Jug to Goldgasse.” 

The tour focuses on Dell’s time at the State Bauhaus in Weimar, where he served as workshop master of the metalworking workshop from 1922 to 1925—complete with fascinating anecdotes. Joana Brauhardt, M.A., the exhibition’s research project assistant, will present selected objects and demonstrate how the ideas of the Bauhaus are reflected in Dell’s designs. 

The tour lasts about one hour, and participation costs 6 euros (reduced rate: 4 euros), plus a 4-euro tour fee. Registration is not required, but space is limited.
