Event Organized by the Senior Citizens' Advisory Council: Afternoon Movie
The Senior Citizens’ Advisory Council of the State Capital of Wiesbaden, in cooperation with the Murnau Film Theater, invites you to the “Afternoon Movie” series on Wednesday, August 5, at 3:30 p.m. at the Murnau Film Theater, Murnaustraße 6. The 1959 adventure film “Das Totenschiff” will be shown.
The film tells the story of sailor Philip Gale, who is robbed of his papers and meets Stanislaw Lawski in the port of Marseille. Lawski gets him a job on the freighter “Yorikke.” Only later do the two men realize that the highly insured ship is loaded with worthless cargo and destined to sink.
The film was directed by Georg Tressler. The lead roles are played by Horst Buchholz, Mario Adorf, and Helmut Schmid. The film is rated for ages 16 and up and will be shown in the German version. A film studies introduction will be given before the screening.
Admission costs six euros and applies to all age groups.
