Press release of the state capital Wiesbaden

Construction work on the Theodor-Heuss-Ring railway bridge in Southeast

Starting Tuesday, June 16, the Civil Engineering and Surveying Office will be replacing the damaged guardrail on the railway bridge on Theodor-Heuss-Ring. The work is expected to continue until the end of the summer break in Hesse.

At this location, Theodor-Heuss-Ring is reduced to a single lane in both directions. The exit toward Mainzer Straße is closed to trucks, but cars may still turn there. During construction, the southbound sidewalk on the Theodor-Heuss-Ring railway bridge toward Mainzer Straße will be closed. A traffic light will be installed on the bridge to allow pedestrians to cross to the northbound sidewalk.

The city regularly renovates roads, utility lines, and sewers. That is why there are approximately 5,000 construction sites in Wiesbaden every year. A map showing selected projects is available at wiesbaden.de/baustellen (opens in a new tab). All of this work is an investment in the future. Without these projects, major damage would occur sooner or later, leading to more severe traffic disruptions.
