Press release of the state capital Wiesbaden

Harald Michel new head of the real estate office

Harald Michel is the new head of the City of Wiesbaden's real estate department. He takes up his new post on Wednesday, July 1.

Michel has worked for over thirty years in various areas of public service at the local, state, and federal levels and brings extensive experience in property management, the purchase and sale of land, leasing and rental, as well as in building rights and preemptive rights. Most recently, he headed the Purchasing and Leasing Division at the Office of Construction and Real Estate for the City of Frankfurt am Main. In addition to a wide range of responsibilities, Michel will be joined by a highly motivated and professionally competent team.

“With Harald Michel, we are gaining an experienced leader who combines technical depth with a clear eye for efficient processes. Especially in light of the growing demands on land management and procurement, this is an important step for the further development of our Real Estate Office. Welcome to the state capital,” says Real Estate Director Andreas Kowol.

“I am very much looking forward to this new role and the trust that has been placed in me,” explains Michel. “Together with the team, I would like to strategically develop the city’s land holdings and help find good, sustainable solutions for Wiesbaden and its citizens.”

As the central real estate service provider for the state capital of Wiesbaden, the Real Estate Office is responsible for the management, use, and development of the city’s real estate assets. Its responsibilities include, in particular, the purchase and sale of land, the leasing and letting of municipal land, and the (project) development of land within the city limits. In addition, the Real Estate Office handles key tasks in the state capital’s municipal procurement and contracting processes.
