On Saturday, June 20, the Ikano Bank City Marathon will take place for the fifth time in Wiesbaden, starting at 6:45 p.m. As a result, significant traffic disruptions are expected in the downtown area, which will affect bus service.

Arrangements starting at 2 p.m.:
Due to construction work, Georg-August-Zinn-Straße will be closed to vehicle traffic starting at 2 p.m. The section between Taunusstraße and Webergasse is affected. This will result in changes to the routes of lines 1 and 8. The buses will first serve the on-demand stop “Kochbrunnen” and then continue via Taunusstraße and Wilhelmstraße to the “Kurhaus/Theater” stop on line 16. The same detour applies in the opposite direction. The “Webergasse” stop will be omitted during the closure.
Arrangements starting at 6 p.m.:
Starting at 6 p.m., the area north of Wilhelmstraße cannot be accessed. This includes, for example, Taunusstraße, Nerotal, Dambachtal, Idsteiner Straße, Sonnenberger Straße, and Danziger Straße up to Hofgartenplatz.
Lines 1 and 8: In the direction of Eigenheim/Nerotal, buses will only run as far as the “Wilhelmstraße” stop. From there, they will turn around and return toward the main station from the “Dernsches Gelände” stop on Friedrichstraße.
Line 16: In the direction of Südfriedhof, the route from the “Hofgartenplatz” stop follows the same path as Line 18 to the “Dernsches Gelände” stop on Wilhelmstraße. After that, the route continues as usual. In the direction of Hofgartenplatz/Rambach, buses follow the usual route to the “Wilhelmstraße” stop. The journey continues in the same way as Line 18 to “Hofgartenplatz,” and from there, the route continues as usual toward Rambach.
These changes should be taken into account when planning trips, and extra time should be allowed if necessary. Additional general information is available at the timetable display cases at the affected stops.
