Inclusive Art Project “Touched by Art”: Preview and Public Auction at the Reinhard Ernst Museum
After nearly a year of preparation and two months of intensive artistic collaboration, the inclusive art project “Touched by Art” is reaching its climax: On Thursday, June 25, works by a total of 20 artists will be auctioned off to the public at the Reinhard Ernst Museum, Wilhelmstraße 1. The evening before, on Wednesday, June 24, the project invites the public to a preview featuring meet-and-greets, discussions, and a first look at the resulting artworks.
The “Touched by Art” project brings together artists with and without disabilities in tandems. The works created collaboratively embody creative diversity, mutual appreciation, and the unifying power of art. The auction offers interested parties the opportunity to purchase a work of art created as part of the project while also supporting the project’s continued development.
The preview begins on Wednesday, June 24, at 7 p.m. at the Reinhard Ernst Museum, Wilhelmstraße 1. For the first time, all works by the ten tandems will be presented together. The focus is on the participating artists and their shared experiences in the creative process. The tandems will offer insights into their collaboration. Also participating in the panel discussion will be Gert-Uwe Mende, Mayor of the State Capital of Wiesbaden and patron of the project; actress and Deaf performer Cindy Klink, also a patron; Heike Hofmann, Hessian Minister for Labor, Integration, Youth, and Social Affairs; museum founder Reinhard Ernst, and Pastor Matthias Loyal, Theological Director of EVIM. Afterward, there will be an opportunity for discussion and networking.
The public auction will take place on Thursday, June 25, starting at 5:30 p.m. at the Reinhard Ernst Museum, Wilhelmstraße 1. The auction will be conducted by Prof. Dr. Dirk Boll, head of Christie’s Germany.
Interested parties may submit an initial bid equal to the listed estimate prior to the auction. In addition, it is possible to submit a written maximum bid, which will be considered on your behalf during the auction. The proceeds will go toward the sustainable development of the “Touched by Art” project.

From Friday, July 17, through the end of August, an exhibition at the Kunstverein Bellevue-Saal, Wilhelmstraße 32, will once again showcase all the works created as part of the project to the public. The exhibition opens with a vernissage on Friday, July 17, at 7 p.m.
