Reading party at the Literaturhaus: relaxed browsing in community
On Saturday, June 13, the reading party will once again take place at Villa Clementine, Frankfurter Straße 1. The Literaturhaus will open its doors from 7 p.m. for browsing on the entire Beletage.
Those interested in reading can settle into the various lounges to focus on their current books while enjoying a friendly atmosphere. In between, there will be opportunities to chat with one another and exchange thoughts on what they’ve read or share book recommendations. The Glyg team will provide refreshments with drinks and snacks. The reading party is scheduled to end at 10 p.m., though participation for the entire duration is not required, and attendees are free to come and go as they please. Admission is free. No advance registration is necessary.
The concept of reading parties, or “silent reading parties,” originated in the United States and has also become very popular here. The basic idea is to read together in a pleasant atmosphere, far removed from digital distractions and the interruptions of everyday life.
Further information can be found at wiesbaden.de/literaturhaus (opens in a new tab). The event is organized by the Literaturhaus Villa Clementine/Wiesbaden Cultural Office in cooperation with Glyg.
