Press release of the state capital Wiesbaden

Taster day at the Wiesbaden Music & Art School

On Saturday, June 20, the Wiesbadener Musik- & Kunstschule (WMK), Schillerplatz 1-2, invites you to a big taster day from 9 am to 1 pm. Children, young people and adults will have the opportunity to get to know the diverse world of instruments at WMK, try out instruments and get personal advice.

Whether it’s the piano, violin, guitar, or trumpet, the open house offers a chance to experience a wide variety of instruments up close. You can also try out unique instruments like the Japanese shakuhachi or the Veeh harp. In the rock, pop, and jazz section, drums, electric guitar, keyboard, saxophone, and electric bass are also available to try out.

In addition to the individual appointments that can be booked in advance online at wmk-wiesbaden.de, (opens in a new tab) the WMK is once again offering its popular instrument tour and open trial sessions this year. Many classrooms are open to interested visitors, allowing instruments to be tried out spontaneously and without prior registration. WMK instructors provide individual guidance and assist in finding the right instrument.

The event will be complemented by short musical performances and live presentations inside and outside the building, offering a glimpse into the music school’s various departments. The open house is aimed at anyone who would like to learn an instrument—whether children, teenagers, or adults. Participation is free of charge.

Individual appointments are available only after prior online registration at wmk-wiesbaden.de (opens in a new tab). Registration closes on Wednesday, June 17, at 11:59 p.m. Any remaining spots will be assigned directly on the open house day.
