Summer concert of the music and art school
The Wiesbaden Music and Art School (WMK) invites you to a summer concert on Thursday, June 11, at 7 p.m. at the Kulturforum, Friedrichstraße 16.
The audience can look forward to a colorful evening of music featuring pieces from the classical, folk, jazz, and pop genres. The program includes German folk songs arranged for accordion, works by Joseph Haydn, Domenico Cimarosa, and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, as well as music by Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy, Tchaikovsky, and Rimsky-Korsakov. Modern and popular sounds also feature in the program, including “Plastic Love” by Mariya Takeuchi, the ragtime classic “Heliotrope Bouquet” by Scott Joplin and Louis Chauvin, and songs by Stevie Wonder and Zimmer90.
Young musicians will perform on piano, flute, trumpet, oboe, clarinet, violin, accordion, and electric guitar. In addition, the vocal ensemble “Vokal?Genial!” and the band “The (!) Band” will help shape the evening. The instrumental jazz group “Cue On” will also provide a special musical highlight with a performance from the gallery of the Kulturforum.
