The event took place on the grounds next to the daycare center. Children, families, staff, and numerous supporters took part. The Europaviertel daycare center cares for approximately 147 children. During the charity race, the children rode balance bikes, scooters, bicycles, and tricycles, completing numerous laps for a good cause. In the run-up to the event, they had secured sponsors from among their families, friends, and neighbors, who had pledged either a fixed amount or a donation per lap completed. In the future STEM lab, children will have even more opportunities to explore scientific, technical, hands-on, and creative concepts through play. The planned lab builds on the facility’s educational approach and is designed to facilitate a wide range of experiences with experimentation, discovery, and independent learning.

Among the guests were Dr. Patricia Becher, Head of Social Affairs; Angela Braner, Deputy Director of the Daycare Centers and Childcare Division; representatives of the Parents’ Council and the Friends of the Center; as well as families and supporters of the initiative. The team from the Europaviertel Daycare Center also attended the event.

“Children are naturally curious. When they can try things out, explore, and develop their own ideas, they gain important life experiences. The future STEM lab will create new opportunities for this. It’s impressive to see the dedication with which the children, families, and supporters are working together to advance this goal,” said Dr. Patricia Becher, Head of Social Affairs.

The sponsor race takes place at the Europaviertel Daycare Center every two years. In the past, the event has already made it possible to carry out projects and make purchases for the children. This year, too, the high turnout demonstrated the strong connection to the facility. The Europaviertel Daycare Center thanks all sponsors, volunteers, and families for their support and dedication.
