Press release of the state capital Wiesbaden

Start of the Nerobergbahn season

On Good Friday, April 3, the historic Nerobergbahn starts the new season and invites visitors to a very special ride experience.

With its distinctive character, the Nerobergbahn has been one of the city’s most popular tourist destinations since 1888 and is synonymous with engineering history, tradition, and breathtaking views.

Last year, a record-breaking year, more than 315,000 passengers took advantage of the unique opportunity to comfortably ascend the Neroberg on approximately 18,000 trips. Once again, the option to get married on the railway on select dates was particularly popular: 25 couples exchanged vows in this extraordinary setting.

As usual, technical inspections and a TÜV certification were carried out during the winter months. This ensures the highest possible level of safety, and the water-ballast-powered railway is ready to go. The entire team led by the new operations manager, Tobias Kaufmann, looks forward to welcoming numerous guests again through the end of October.

Ticket prices remain unchanged from last year. To kick off the season, Wiesbaden’s mobility service provider is inviting everyone with a birthday on April 3 to a free round-trip ride.

The Nerobergbahn runs daily from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. at 15-minute intervals. A round-trip ticket costs 6 euros for adults and 3.50 euros for children between the ages of six and 14. For frequent riders, a 10-ride pass is available for the entire season: adults pay 45 euros, children 25 euros. In addition, attractive offers such as the family ticket and group tickets for groups of ten or more are available.

Bus Line 1 provides guests with a convenient and eco-friendly way to travel from Wiesbaden Central Station to the Nerotal terminal.
