Interactive project on the medium of books at the Literaturhaus Villa Clementine

A book, a table, two chairs - at "Hooked on a Book", visitors to the Literaturhaus Villa Clementine, Frankfurter Straße 1, become the participants themselves in a special evening centered around the medium of books.

The interactive project will take place on Saturday, May 9, from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. and from 8:30 to 10:00 p.m. in the Anderer Salon at the Literaturhaus Villa Clementine. It invites participants to meet one another and discuss the questions the book raises as they read and leaf through its pages together. The unexpected and the unknown are part of the concept. Thus, page by page, a unique story unfolds, along with a conversation about life, what divides us and what unites us, and the experience of being alone and together.

The idea for “Hooked on a Book” comes from Helgard Haug of the renowned theater collective Rimini Protokoll. The illustrations in this richly illustrated book are by Luise Wüstling. The project was initiated by the Kulturfonds Frankfurt RheinMain and takes place as part of World Design Capital 2026. With the kind support of the Academy of Arts, Section: Film and Media Art. In Wiesbaden in cooperation with the Literaturhaus Villa Clementine/Wiesbaden Cultural Office.

A second edition of “Hooked on a Book” is planned for Saturday, May 30, at the Literaturhaus. Further information can be found at www.wiesbaden.de/literaturhaus (opens in a new tab). Participation in only one session is possible. Admission is free; no registration required.
