Applications for the Christa Moering Scholarship still possible until June 6
The state capital of Wiesbaden is awarding the "Christa Moering Scholarship" in memory of Wiesbaden painter and honorary citizen Christa Moering (1916-2013). Applications can be submitted until Saturday, June 6 (the postmark is valid).
The grant is awarded every two years and is endowed with 10,000 euros. It is open to visual artists of all ages who live, work, or were born in Wiesbaden.
Works or ideas from all fields of the visual arts that engage with the theme “Metropolis: Dystopia and Utopia” may be submitted. The scholarship is linked to the realization of a project in the following year at the Kunsthaus Wiesbaden. This exhibition will be presented in connection with the 100th anniversary of Fritz Lang’s silent film “Metropolis,” the rights to which are held by the F.W. Murnau Foundation in Wiesbaden.
The application in paper form should include a current CV detailing the applicant’s artistic career, up to two catalogs, and five to ten photos. A digital-only application is also possible. The scholarship will be awarded by an expert jury.
