Thanks to emergency services: World War II bomb successfully defused
On Wednesday, May 13, the Explosive Ordnance Disposal Service successfully defused an American 500-kilo World War II bomb in the area of the access road from the B455 to the Lucius D. Clay barracks in Erbenheim successfully defused a 500-kilo American World War II bomb. Lord Mayor Gert-Uwe Mende and Head of Public Order Maral Koohestanian thanked all the emergency services for their work.

In addition to administrative staff, the Wiesbaden Professional Fire Department, the Heßloch Volunteer Fire Department, and the city and state police were on the scene. To defuse the 500-kilogram bomb, an evacuation within a radius of approximately 700 meters was necessary.
