Press release of the state capital Wiesbaden

New administrative building for public order office inaugurated

On Friday, May 8, the new administrative building of the public order office at Stielstraße 3 in Schierstein was officially inaugurated. The state capital of Wiesbaden has thus reached another important milestone in the urban development of the district. The client of the project is the municipal WiBau.

Following the successful opening of the new vehicle registration office building in 2024, the remaining older structures on the property were demolished to make way for the new administrative building. The newly completed building brings together departments of the Public Order Office that were previously spread across multiple locations and provides modern, functional working conditions.

The three-story building will house the Public Order and Business Affairs departments, the Events Office, and the Weapons, Hunting, and Fisheries Department. The space is complemented by meeting rooms, archive areas, and a rooftop terrace for employees.

At the inauguration, Mayor Gert-Uwe Mende emphasized the project’s significance for the city. “With the new administrative building, we are not only creating modern workspaces for our employees but also sustainably improving services for citizens. Consolidating the previously dispersed units is an important step toward a more efficient administration.”

Andreas Kowol, Head of the Department of Construction and Transportation, highlighted the building’s architectural quality. He said: “The new building impresses with its clear architectural structure and sustainable construction methods. With the green roof and the durable façade design, we are consciously focusing on future-proof solutions in public construction.”

Maral Koohestanian, Head of the Public Order Department, underscored the functional advantages. “This building is a major asset for the Public Order Department. Bringing the departments together significantly improves internal collaboration while also ensuring shorter distances and better accessibility for citizens.”

Christoph Golla, Managing Director of WiBau, was pleased to have reliably completed this important project thanks to the professional and collegial commitment of all involved. “This worked so well in Schierstein that I sometimes wish reliability and mutual trust could be made key award criteria in future procurement processes.”

As the representative of the construction contractor, architect Torsten Schön delivered the closing remarks and explained the unique aspects of the construction process. The construction timeline spanned from demolition work in the summer of 2024 through the start of structural work in December 2024 to completion in March 2026. Special attention was also paid to nature conservation: prior to the demolition of the existing structure, young garden dormice were successfully relocated in coordination with the Environmental Agency.

WiBau is constructing the building under a leasehold agreement and leasing it to the state capital of Wiesbaden.
