Foster parents wanted: Information evening of the Wiesbaden foster children's service

The Office for Social Work is looking for committed families to take in a foster child who, for various reasons, cannot live with their parents.

An information session will be held on Tuesday, June 9, starting at 6:00 p.m. at the Office of Social Services, located at 11 Konradinerallee. The meeting point is in front of the main entrance. There, you can learn more about foster care and have your questions answered.

There is a great need for families who can provide children with a loving and safe home, either on a short-term or long-term basis. The reasons why children cannot grow up in their biological families and why their proper development is at risk are complex. Often, children must be removed from their families due to an acute situation of danger and initially placed in an emergency foster family. Taking all necessary aspects into account, the Wiesbaden District Social Services then assesses the appropriate support or form of assistance. This also considers the possibility of a long-term placement in a permanent foster family.

During the information evening, the Foster Care Service team provides a comprehensive overview of all key aspects of foster parenting: They explain the general conditions, the personal and formal requirements, and the application process. Foster families receive professional guidance and support throughout the entire process.

The Office of Social Work welcomes all types of families (married, unmarried, same-sex, with or without biological children, single-parent, or blended families) who have the time, energy, and desire to provide a foster child with a safe and loving home.

Participation is free of charge. You are welcome to register at pflegekinderdienstwiesbadende or ask initial questions by phone at (0611) 318860, 313506, or 312666.
